ABBOTT, Cyril F. -96, of Seabright, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009, in Arbourstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Saint Jacques, N.L., he was a son of the late John and Caroline Abbott. Cyril worked many years in the real estate business. He was an active civic politician serving many years as Alderman and a term as Deputy Mayor of Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha "Beth" Ouellet; son, David (Gayle); daughter, Mary Lee Adams, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Barry, Sue Ann, and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Amelie, Jeremie, and Matthew; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 4-7 p.m. Sunday, February 15th, funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 16, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
