ALDERS, Evelyn Jewers - Halifax, formerly of Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Edith (Finck) Jewers. Evelyn was a founding member of Mystic Star Chapter No. 40, O.E.S., St. Margaret's Bay; also a charter member of the Athina Chapter Daughters of the Nile No. 149, Halifax, and a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Head of St. Margaret's Bay. She is survived by her daughter Joanne (Richard) Fry, Bayside; grandsons, Creg (Laura) and Scott (Moira), both of Dartmouth; great-grandson, Richard; great-granddaughters, Meagan and Katie. She also leaves behind her loving pet, "Molly"; her dear friends, Helen Schofield and Christine Ryan, and a number of cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Richmond "Dick", in 1999. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. George's Anglican Church, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George's Anglican Church Cemetery, Head of St. Margaret's Bay.
