ARDENNE, Michael John - 57, Seabright, Halifax Co., passed away suddenly October 11, 2003, at home. Born in Kingston, Ont., he was a son of Louise (Porter), Seabright, and the late John Ardenne. At age three Michael moved to Nova Scotia, and grew up in Seabright becoming an avid sailor and developed a passion for the sea, and the performing arts. Michael was the founder and president of Ardenne International Inc. He was directly involved in the business community throughout Canada. He was past president of the Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia, a board member of the International Managers Forum, a past president of the Nova Scotia Festival of the Arts, and a former vice-chair of Downtown Halifax Business Commission. Michael was presented with the Music Industry Association of Nova Scotia's Promoter of the year in 1988, as well as event coordinator of the year in 1988 and 1989. Michael had also been event coordinator for several major events including, BOMA '97, Festival by the Lake for the 1997 World Canoe Championships, 8th International Symposium on Microbial Ecology, Nova Scotia/Massachusetts Economic Summit, Fiddles of the World and the 14th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Ardenne; sister, Margaret, Seabright; brother, Timothy, Coquitlam, B.C.; niece, Arianna; nephews, Sabastian and Alexander, all of Coquitlam, B.C. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 15, both in Ronald A.
