ATTON, Carol Irene - 43, Glen Haven, passed away at home surrounded by her family Monday, May 31, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Shirlene (Johnson) Morash, West Dover, and the late Leslie L. Morash. Carol served her country in the navy, air force and army reserves from 1989 to 2000 as a medical assistant. Carol was instrumental in Swissair Flight 111 recovery operations at CFB Shearwater. Carol also worked as a medical assistant at CFB Shearwater Medical Inspection Centre for the past 15 years. Carol's loves were gardening, reading and spending time doing crafts with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered in our prayers and our hearts. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dan; sons, Leslie (Tammy), Tantallon; Brian (Janelle), Glen Haven; sisters, Nancy (Gordon) Ryan, Whites Lake; Cindy Poirier (Bob), East Chezzetcook; Betty Rose Shand (Gary), Halifax; Tanya Ward (Bernie), West Dover; goddaughter, Krystal Harrie, Halifax; several nieces and nephews; as well her pride and joy, Taylor, Jeremy and Shelby-Lynn, her grandchildren. The family will receive visitors 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13495 Peggys Cove Rd., Tantallon, Pastor Ben Meloro officiating.
