ASHE, Gerald Albert ASHE, Gerald Albert - Of Upper Tantallon, died March 8, 2001, in Melville Lodge, Halifax, at the age of 83. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Robert and Hilda Ashe. Prior to his retirement he was a carpenter for many years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed all animals. He was a veteran overseas in the Second World War. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, Uzena, Upper Tantallon; daughter, Trinda (Mrs. Keith) Corney; grandson, Dana. He was predeceased by sister, Alice; brothers, James and Lovell. Visitation will be in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon after 1 p.m. Sunday with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m., Pastor Shant Manuel officiating. Committal will be held at a later date in the Black Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
