BLAKENEY, Robert Ryan - 86, Fox Point, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Jeddore, he was the son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Boutilier) Blakeney. Robert was a known and respected carpenter building many of the local homes. He was an adherent of Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as Deacon and he was also an avid gardener. He is survived by his son, Thomas; sister, Ella. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita. The family will receive visitors 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. A family committal service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9, in Baptist Church Cemetery, Fox Point, Pastor Roy Uffindell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seventh-day Adventist Church, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Cardiac Unit, or charity of choice.
