BLINN, Alice Mary - 90, Halifax, formerly of Head of St. Margaret's Bay, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Plympton, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Melanson) Comeau. Alice was a teacher, graduating from Provincial Normal College in Truro with honors. She taught in Digby, Annapolis and Halifax counties. She won the Centennial Medal for teaching. She was active in the Nova Scotia Teacher's Union Local of Halifax County, in many of the church associations including the C.W.L., Catholic Council and Liturgy committee, and home schooling. She was well-known for her talents in crocheting and knitting which she shared with family and friends. Alice was predeceased by her husband, William; sisters, Lavina, Mamie, Annie, and Marjorie; two brothers and two sisters in infancy. She leaves to mourn her children, Edgar (Thelma), Lunenburg; Harold (Joan), Bedford, and Marjorie (Oliver) Harnish, Stillwater Lake; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, James Comeau. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd. (Hwy. 333). Funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Hubbards, Father Paul Morris officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery, Simms Settlement.
