
| BOUTILIER (Cooper), Stella Mary - 97, Hackett's Cove, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 3, 2008. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Wine Harbour, Guysborough Co., on April 17, 1911, she was a daughter of the late John and Janet (Scanlan) Cooper. She attended Normal College in Truro and in 1930 began her teaching career. Through the years she taught in Hackett's Cove, Glen Margaret and Indian Harbour, retiring in 1974 with 25 years service. In some instances she taught three generations of a family. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret's of Scotland Catholic Church in Glen Margaret. She was a founding member of the White Caps Seniors Club and was instrumental in starting their bowling league. She enjoyed the ocean, falling snow, books, traveling and entertaining family and friends with delicious home cooking. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Patti) Boutilier, Timberlea; daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Shatford- Morse, Janet (David) Shaw, Clare (Reg) Morash, all of Hackett's Cove; grandchildren, David, Catherine, Peggy, Barbara, Michael, Lorne, Peter, Christopher, Kathleen, Janise, and Mark; 15 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen D'Aubin; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wellesley "Wells"; brother, Joseph; sisters, Dorothy MacDonald, Anna, Florence and Gertrude Cooper; grandson, Barrie Jr. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, in St. Margaret's of Scotland Catholic Church, Glen Margaret, Father Joe MacKinnon officiating.
