BLAKENEY, Reta Winnifred - 78, of Fox Point, Lunenburg Co., passed away Sunday, February 12, 2001, at home. Born in Westport, Digby Co., she was the daughter of the late Earl and Myra Denton. Reta retired from teaching in 1980, with 29 years of service to the communities of Mill Cove, Fox Point and Hubbards. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert; son, Thomas, Fox Point; sister-in-law, Ella Blakeney, Fox Point. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday from the Baptist Church, Birchy Head, Rev. Shant Manuel officiating. Burial in the Baptist Cemetery, Fox Point. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
