CARTER (Johnson), Violet Marie- 86, of Halifax, passed away Thursday April 22, 2010, in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harlie and Teresa (DeStephen) Johnson. Mom's favourite things to do in the early years were the Little Helper's Group and the Annual Variety Show in Hubbards. She also enjoyed dancing with Jack, fishing and travelling to visit their children and grandchildren and playing a good game of cards. Survived by her daughter, Donna Marie (David) Gopp, British Columbia; son, David Johnson (Diane), Burgoyne, Que.; sister, Joanne (Don) Eldershaw, Mill Cove; grandchildren, Natalie, Chantal, Stephanie, Matthew Dale, Shelley Robert, Alicia; great grandchildren, Raymond, Ryan, Haley, Wyatt, David, Riley and Joci; daughter-in-law, Lynn, Sackville; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John "Jack"; children, Elwood and Ferne; sisters, Marjorie Robinson, Marion Hamlin; brother, Frank Johnson. The family will receive visitors 4-6 p.m. Sunday, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 26 in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Mill Cove, Rev. Dave Dellapinna officiating.
