CASHEN, Adam Christopher "Elmo" - 19, St.
Margaret's Village, Tantallon, died suddenly, July 26, 2007, in Halifax.
Born in Halifax, December 14, 1987, he was the son of Brian and Carol (Rolfe)
Cashen. Throughout his very active life, he was forever faithful and caring
to his family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin,
nephew and loyal friend, dearly loved and respected by all. He was admired
for his "adventurous and free spirit". He could light up everyone's world
with his sense of humour. He was a very studious person and a hard worker.
Adam graduated with Honours from Sir John A. MacDonald in 2006. He was
employed at Pier Express, Harrietsfield; previous to that he was with C2
Networks, Sackville. Adam also worked at Boutilier's Lawn & Garden for his
Uncle Paul. He was to attend St. Mary's University in the fall. Adam played
hockey for TASA, Sir John A. MacDonald High and Junior B Bay Ducks (winning
the 2006 Don Johnson Cup). Adam had a very competitive nature. When we look
back we will remember his kindness, generosity and his zest for life and his
outgoing personality. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving
brother and best buddy, Michael; maternal grandparents, John and Margaret
Rolfe; paternal grandmother, Garnette Cashen; many aunts, uncles, cousins
and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his paternal
grandfather, John Henry Cashen; uncles, Harry Thomas Cashen and Dwight Rolfe.
At "Adam's request" he made his final journey to his home residence for an
"Irish Wake" on Saturday, with visitation from 3-9 p.m. (only) at 819
Wisteria Lane, St. Margaret's Village, Upper Tantallon. Funeral mass will be
held at 2 p.m. on Monday in Sacred Heart Church, Timberlea, Rev. Joseph
MacKinnon and Rev. James Richards officiating. Interment will be in William
Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret. Reception to follow interment in St.
Margaret's Bay Arena. Family flowers only by request. A scholarship has been
set up and donations may be made in his memory to the "Adam Cashen Athletic
Scholarship Fund" at any branch of Scotiabank in the Metro area. It would be
greatly appreciated. Also at Adam's request he would like those attending
