CHASE, Lorraine Dorothy - 49, Simms Settlement, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Vera (Stone) Ewing. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was an avid baseball player and a statistician of S.S.L.D.L., of which she was a member for 18 years. Lorraine was a hard worker and in the last few years she worked at Darlene's Family Restaurant in Hubbards. She is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Kirk (Jennifer), Mill Cove; daughters, Wendy Bennett, Bayswater; Loretta (Jamie Randall), Hubbards; Danielle, at home; brothers, Robert (Marie), Maitland; Donnie (Lola), Simms Settlement; David (Jeanette), New Waterford; Gordie (Mary), Maitland; Douglas (Roxanne), Brighton, Ont.; Steve (Suzanne), Chester; Hilliard, Port Lorne; Arthur (Linda), Halifax; sisters, Margaret Covey, Winnipeg; Jean (Wilfred) Morash, Simms Settlement; Grace (Joe), Stephenville, N.L.; Betty (Art) Boutilier, Dartmouth. The light of Lorraine's life were her grandchildren, Robbie, Morgan, Curtis, Austin, and Patrick; many nieces and nephews, and very special friend, Lorna MacLean. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Walter, and niece, Roberta . Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service to held 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Burial to follow in St. John's Anglican Church, Queensland. Family flowers only.
