
| CHRISTIE, Muriel Thelma - 87, Boutilier's Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in Melville Lodge, Halifax. Born in Hackett's Cove, she was the eldest daughter of the late Oliver and Hazel (Richardson) Covey. Muriel was an active member in all aspects of community affairs. She was a leader of St. James Girls Auxiliary, treasurer of St. James' Anglican Church, member of St. Margaret's Bay White Caps and honorary member of St. James' A.C.W. Muriel loved to travel, enjoyed bowling, bingo, and best of all loved a good joke and a competitive game of cards. Her door was always open for a party and she loved to share her home for those who needed a place to sleep and a good home-cooked meal. Muriel took great pleasure in her needlework and loved to share her creations with friends and family. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; grandson, Phillip (Caroline), Saint John, N.B.; granddaughter, Nancy Anne (Chris) Foran, Stillwater Lake; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jemma, and Lilla; sister, Eleanor, Indian Harbour; brothers, Rufus and Walter, Hackett's Cove; many nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Howard; son, Leslie, sister, Marjorie Howatt, and brother, Wilfred. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday in St. James' Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James' Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point or a charity of choice.
