CLEVELAND, Diane Shirley - 66, Indian Harbour, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2010, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Shirley (Hubley) Dorey of Tantallon. She lived in Indian Harbour for 38 years of her married life with her husband Robert (Bobby). She worked as an X-ray technician for 17 years at the Victoria General Hospital and retired in 1980 in order to raise a family. She was a stay at home mom who loved her family and always put their needs before her own. For a number of years she did volunteer work at the East St. Margaret's Elementary School where she was also a trustee and a Beaver Leader. She always looked forward to spending time with her friends and loved to travel to Maine and New Hampshire on her many summer shopping trips. She loved to read, knit and crochet and watch the many wild birds which she religiously fed every day. In the last few months of her life she was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by her friends and relatives. She is survived and will be forever missed by her husband, Robert, and son, Michael (at home) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Rodney and Reginald. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 from the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 from St. Peter's Anglican Church, Hackett's Cove. Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating.
