COOLEN, Thelma Jean Elizabeth "Betty" - 85, of Fox Point, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Ethel (Munroe) Lowe. Betty was a faithful and active member of Fox Point Seventh Day Adventist Church. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends for her kind ways and gentle and generous heart. She is survived by her husband, Victor; sons, David (Nadene) Rose, Halifax; James Rose, Enfield; Daniel (Wendy) Rose, Waverly; Stephen (Lynda), Dartmouth; Shawn (Pauline), Mount Uniacke; daughter-in-law, Etta Rose, Ottawa; stepson, Larry (Cathy) Coolen, Hackett's Cove; stepdaughter, Ginny (Terry) Hannam, Fox Point; sisters, Dorothy Shaw, New Glasgow; Inez Eisan, Halifax; Rita Hack, Bedford; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband, George Edward Rose; son, George Chester; daughter-in-law, Kaye Rose; brothers, Jack, George, Warren, Clarence, and Herman; sisters, Eleanor and Helen. The family will receive visitors 1-4 p.m. Sunday, November 15th, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, November 16th, from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fox Point, Pastor Roy Uffindell officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
