
| CORKUM-JONES, Thelma Kathleen "Corky" - 61, Bridgewater, passed away peacefully April 27, 2003, in the VG Site, QEII, with her family by her side. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Nellie (Colp) Corkum and the late Donald Corkum (Hubbards). She is survived by her daughters, Gayle (David) Shanks, Blandford; Justyne (David) Higgins, Hubbards; grandchildren, Gina, Lisa, Nicole and Dylan; brother, Eugene Wayne (Lynn) Corkum, Ottawa; sisters, Charlene (Bruce) Davis, Hubbards; Kandace (Claude) Laurendeau, Hubbards; several nephews and her many friends. Thelma was a retired employee of Canada Post, and was known for her years of volunteer work. She was co-founder of the Blandford Community Centre, also a member of the Blandford Lodge IOOF, former member of the Blandford Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, the A.R.A. and the Chester Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 44. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all that knew her. The family will receive visitors 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Randy Townsend officiating.
