CORKUM, Terrance Kenneth "Terry"
- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terrance "Terry"
Kenneth Corkum on January 31, 2010. He was born on November 25, 1940, to
Herman Corkum and Verta Miller, and stepfather Louis Miller. Terry's career
with the RCMP began in 1960, with his first decade of service throughout
Ontario, beginning in Kitchener. From there, he served in Newfoundland for
11 years and his last four in Ottawa, retiring in 1984. Terry always looked
back upon his days with the RCMP with fond stories of co-workers and
communities he had the pleasure of knowing. It was a big part of who he was,
and Terry showed us that you are still a Mountie in retirement. Not one to
be idle, Terry also worked for the Bank of Montreal in his early retirement.
Beyond his working life, he was a man who enjoyed a laugh and could be
counted upon by many friends for an emailed joke or two. Terry also looked
forward to golfing in the summer with his buddies, especially his lifelong
friend Stan. He is lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife, soul
mate, and best friend, Janice Woollam. He is also survived by his brother,
Frank Corkum (Elaine),Chester; sisters-in-law, Bev Oulton, Halifax; Judy
Campbell, Peggy's Cove; brothers-in-law, Gary Campbell, Dartmouth; Rob
Campbell (Susan), Windsor; stepson, Chris Woollam (Rose) and his precious
grandson, Matthew Woollam. Terry was a thoughtful, generous and fun-loving
person who will sadly be missed by all who knew him. Service will be held on
Saturday, February 6, at 11 a.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549
Peggys' Cove Rd., Tantallon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
charity of your choice. On-line condolences can be made to:
