
| COVEY, James Arthur "Jimmie" - 86, Seabright, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002, at home. Born in Hackett's Cove, he was a son of the late Sherman and Lalia (Boutilier) Covey. Jimmie was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945. He operated a grocery store in Seabright for 20 years. He was a member of the Seabright I.O.O.F. M.U. Jimmie was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a gifted craftsman and was well-known for his carvings. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth "Eleanor" (Boutilier); daughters, Linda (Bruce) Burrows, Seabright; Louise (John) Hawkins, Fall River; sisters, Evelyn (Fraser), Glen Margaret; Victoria Covey, Halifax; grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Burrows, Liam, Grant and Ellen Hawkins; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Raymond, Harold; sisters, Frances Hubley and Effie Rhodenizer. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today, with a memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13565 Hwy. 333, Tantallon, Rev. Carolyn Palmer and Rev. Jim Forbes officiating. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Beach Hill Road, Seabright. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, QEII Palliative Care Program, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch or a charity of your choice.
