CREWS, Edith - 87, Boutilier's Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Taylors Bay, N.L. she was the eldest child of 12 born to the late William and Catherine (Hillier) Bonnell. Edith was a resident of Boutilier's Point for 65 years. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, the Eastern Star and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Legion No. 116. Edith is survived by her family of sons and daughters, Clyde, Lew (Lynn), Roy (Susan), June (Stuart) Hughes, Kathleen Profit, all of Boutiliers Point; Claude (Dale), Queensland; Ray (Bonnie), Tantallon; Glenn (Elaine), Enfield; Ricci (Wendy), Lacombe, Alta.; David (Bonita), Hall Beach, Nunuvut; Kay (Doug) Vaughn, Saskatoon; Karen (Tom) Scully, Riverview, N.B.; Vera (Ed) Hassett, Clayton, Ont.; Molly (Don) Hume, Edmonton; 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren gave Mom and Dad great joy; brothers and sisters, Ina Hillier, Verena Dunn, Bill Bonnell and Freeman Bonnell of Toronto, Ont.; Stan Bonnell, Calgary; Emma Smith, Carbonear, N.L.; Elsie Coleman, Isle Aux Mort, N.L. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde, in 2008; and brothers, Fred, Gerald, John and Clyde. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29 in St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point. Rev. Mark Marshall officiating.
