
| Childs, John Allen "Jack" - 68, Boutilier's Point, passed away October 17, 2002, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., he was a son of the late Stanley and Beatrice Childs. Jack retired as a Heavy Equipment operator in Ontario retiring to his wife's former home community in Boutilier's Point in 1991, where he worked part-time for Ron Whitman in Tantallon and Philip Harnish in Mill Cove. Jack will be remembered throughout the Bay as the pony man providing pony wagon rides for many in the community and for other special occasions throughout the Bay. Jack enjoyed attending many of the horse shows, auctions and exhibitions around Nova Scotia. Survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Rose (Snair); brothers, Robert (Elsie), Henry (Gloria); sister, Irene (Dave) Daynard, all of Sault Ste. Marie; his aunt Helen in Florida; brother-in-law, Arnie Lukala, Sault Ste. Marie; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Joyce Lukala and Joan Daynard. Family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. Memorial Service 3 p.m. Saturday in St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Rick Walsh officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point.
