DOREY, Herbert Almon "Herbie" - 82, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Born in Hubbards, he was a son of the late Almon and Jemima (MacLean) Dorey. Herbie was a retired brakeman with the Canadian National Railways. He served his country overseas with the West Nova Scotia regiment during the Second World War. He was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards. He was an avid hockey and ball player, and was always a faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Nancy Miller; sister, Cathy (Vic) Steele, Halifax; brothers, Tom, Hubbards; Daniel (Olive), Fox Point; Arnold (Anne), Abbotsford, B.C.; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Audrey Campbell and Shirley Beeler. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards.
