DesROCHES, Francis Urban -78, of Simms Settlement, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Wellington, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Jack and Catherine (LeClaire) DesRoches. Urban was a woodsman and teamster since the age of 17 working all over Nova Scotia till his retirement at the age of 60. He than began working at the Hubbard's Beach Campground and Cottages until 2007. He was an avid horseman who traveled the province attending many of the exhibitions and horse pulls over the years. He especially enjoyed his horse, Eric. He is survived by his companion, Alice McInnis; four children; two brothers and three sisters. He was predeceased by five siblings.
