
| EDWARDS, Allan Dexter - 76, Seabright, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005, from emphysema, with his family by his side. Born in Dartmouth, he is survived by his wife, Barbara (Thorne, Corning); stepchildren, Stephen, Linda, Frank (Cathy), Judy (Fred) Sanford, Steven (Tanis); six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Wilma (Lou Garnet), Sylvia (Bill Moore) and Mavis. He was predeceased by parents, Carleton and Florence (Carter) Edwards, and siblings, Carl, Nava, Betty, Maurice, Joyce and David. Allan spent many years in British Columbia and was a great outdoorsman enjoying heli skiing, dirt biking, landscaping and gardening. He was a cabinet maker and contractor by trade. He was a veteran of the military as a paratrooper. He was an equestrian show jumper and rider, and later worked as a cowboy in the mountains. He became a ski instructor and a member of the ski patrol. As assistant fire chief he was a dedicated member of the Celista British Columbia Volunteer Fire Department. Allan was an accomplished musician playing a variety of wind instruments, he was also a tenor soloist. In the latter years he enjoyed computer games, was an avid bridge player and was a great competitor in any card or board game. Funeral to be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, in St. Peter's Anglican Church in Hackett's Cove, Rev. Irving Letto officiating.
