FRALICK, Kenneth Garnet - 68, Hackett's Cove, passed away at home on April 9, 2008. Born in Hackett's Cove, he was a son of the late Garnet and Cora (Boutilier) Fralick. Before Kenneth and his son, Kenneth Jr., started South West Industries Ltd. on Quinpool Road in Halifax, Kenneth started his sales career with the Ollivetti Underwood Typewriter Company where he progressed to become a Regional Manager in St. John's, N.L. Ken was also very active in the local fishery with his son, Kevin, where he was involved with the local Fisherman's Associations and various boards. In semi-retirement, Ken, also enjoyed selling cars for the Oregan's Group in Halifax. Ken's passion in life was the time he spent serving as a county councilor with the former Halifax County Council. Ken served on all major boards and committees for the council and enjoyed serving people. Ken was fondly known in the community as "Councilor Ken". Ken was also nominated and ran as the Provincial Conservative Candidate in the St. Margaret's Bay Area. Ken was an avid sport fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed these outdoor activities with is son, Michael. Ken will be remembered by his grandchildren for his guitar playing and love of music. Ken was very proud to have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on October 26, 2007. He is survived by his wife, the former Darlene V. Hubley; sons, Kenneth Jr. (Elizabeth "Libby"), Seabright; Kevin (Janet), Hackett's Cove; Michael (Vineeta), Fall River; grandchildren, Stephanie, Steven, and Roy; brothers, Ralph (Phyllis), and sister, Pauline Morash, both of Hackett's Cove. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 14, and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, Rev. Irving Letto officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
