GATES, Emilie Matilda - 84, Upper Tantallon, formerly
of Blandford, passed away peacefully May 14, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences
Centre, Halifax. Born in Beresford, N.B., she was a daughter of the late
Wilfred and Georgina Boudreau. Emilie was a loving and caring wife, mother
and grandmother and will be remembered for her homemade bread, rolls and
mustard pickles. She was proud of her French Acadian background and taught
French in the former Blandford Elementary School for several years. She and
her husband traveled extensively with their camper throughout Canada and the
United States. She is survived by her husband, Russell; sons, David (Julia)
and their children Sam and Laura, Halifax; Rene (Janet) and their children
Matthew and Leah, Timberlea; sister, Esther (Charles) Adams, Moncton, N.B.;
brother, Ronnie (Lisette) Bathurst, N.B. She was predeceased by brothers,
Edgar, Bernie; sister, Martha. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Thursday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd.,
Tantallon. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday from St. Luke's, Tantallon, Father
Jim Richards officiating. A family committal service to take place at a
later time in St. Augustine's Catholic Church Cemetery, Chester. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova
