
| GORMAN, John Beatty - 84, Boutilier's Point, passed away suddenly December 2, 2003, in Queen's General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James William and Pearl Elizabeth (Corkum) Gorman. John retired from VIA Rail in 1984 with 36 years of service and worked 29 years with the Canadian Corp. of Commissioners. He was a decorated veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Cape Breton Highlander Black Watch along with the Nova Scotia Highlanders Service Corp. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Seabright Branch 116 and the St. Margaret's Bay Lions Club. John was an avid outdoorsman and spent many wonderful hours at his farm in Caledonia. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his sons, John, Ingonish; Richard and Gilbert, both of Halifax; Reginald, Antigonish; Timothy (Heather), Boutilier's Point; daughters, Dale (Claude) Crews, Queensland; Cheryl (Chris) Fader, Hampton, N.B.; Kay (Darryl) Boutilier, Dartmouth; Glenda (Dwight) Bonang, Dartmouth; brother, Francis (Mary), Halifax; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Mary (MacIntyre); son, James; infant granddaughter, Sarah; sister, Mary. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards.
