| HUBLEY, Roseville "Rodie" - 87, Indian Harbour,
passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in
Indian Harbour, he was the son of the late Charles and Ida (Johnson) Hubley.
Rodie, a lifelong resident of Indian Harbour, began his career fishing sword
fish off the shores of Glace Bay, Cape Breton for five years before he joined
the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. He retired in the early 80's from the
Halifax Ship Yards with 35 years of service. He worked many summers for the
family business known as the Lover's Lane Cottages in Indian Harbour. He is
survived by his wife, the former Helen Richardson; daughter, Marsha (Owen) Bethell, Bedford; sister, Nora Zinn, Halifax; grandchildren, Bradley (Jennifer),
Loch Broom, Pictou Co.; Gregory, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Liam and Kate. He
was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence and Granville. The family will receive
visitors 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 6, with funeral service to be held 2 p.m.
Saturday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road,
Tantallon, Rev. Irving Letto officiating. A family committal service will be
held at a later date in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery, Hackett's Cove. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Indian
