JENNINGS, John Lester - 92, Mill Cove, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008, in Mahone Bay Nursing Home. Born in Mill Cove, he was a son of the late John and Janie (Young) Jennings. Lester was a longshoreman and a member of Local 269 for 40 years and retired in 1982. He is survived by his sister, Nora (Percy) Bezanson, Blandford; extended family, Peter (Judy) Harnish, Lorraine Langille, Odess (Carol), Winfield (Sandra), Sally, all of Mill Cove; Elinor (Lem), Bedford; Rusty (Lois), Ontario; Valerie (Errol), Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his companion, Wilma Harnish; brothers, Leaman, Percy, Bernard; sisters, Helen, Wilma, Winnie, and one member of his extended family, Sharon. The family will receive visitors 6-9 p.m. Sunday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, in St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove, Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove.
