JEWERS (McInnis), Irene Mary - 55, died peacefully at home with her daughters on May 15, 2006. Born September 26, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Eldon and Frances (Schnare) McInnis. She lived 18 years in Ecum Secum before moving back to the Hubbards area in 1987. Mom was an energetic and busy person. She loved to dance and have fun. Most importantly, she was a great friend, mother and confidant. She was always helping others without ever having to be asked. She worked as a PCW and CCA for over 17 years at Shoreham Village, Chester, and four years at Duncan McMillan Nursing Home in Sheet Harbour, of which she considered both her second families. She belonged to the Eastern Shore Fisherman's Protective Association and had just became a part owner of a newly formed crab fishing company in that area. She attended Chester Municipal High School and had taken her PCW course at Duncan McMillan Nursing Home. Irene was predeceased by husband, Winston Rosevelt Mackenzie; mother, Frances; father, Eldon. She is survived by daughters, Sunday (Stephen) Pace, Tanya Stott and Amy (Joey) Cotroneo; grandchildren, Mathew, Emily, Andrew, Sara and Aiden; brothers, Fenton and Marshall and sister, Marguerite (Courtney) Lewis. Thanks to all the loving family and friends who helped Irene and her family through this most difficult time. The overwhelming feeling of love made the experience bearable for all. Mom has requested no Eulogy she said "Anyone who knows me already knows what I am about. I would rather everyone knows how much I appreciate them-people have offered so much". In place of a Eulogy we have put together a slide show that will be available for viewing at the reception post service. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke's Church, Hubbards. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or do something nice for someone else mom would have liked that! The family invite you to attend a reception to follow in the church hall. There is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance last forever. Till memory fades and life departs, you live forever in our hearts.
