JONES, Robert Douglas
-On January 23, 2010, Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by family
and friends in the VG Site, QEII, Palliative Care Unit. His battle with
lung disease was over. Born in Halifax in 1936, he was a son of Clarissa
and Hamilton Jones. Bob loved Nova Scotia. He spent his entire life living
and working in the Halifax area, at the Public Archives of Nova Scotia,
CJCH TV, as a partner of Cal Productions, and with his own company,
Markland Productions offering professional photography services. He was a
freelance ENG cameraman at CBC for many years, and was at the centre of
newsworthy moments, making many friends along the way. He retired to the
shores of his beloved St. Margaret's Bay where he enjoyed carrying out his
many, varied and interesting projects. He is survived by his wife,
Barbara; sons, Peter (Angela), and David; daughter, Wendy; grandchildren,
Nicole, Owen, Bryson, Brennan and Sam, and brother, Donald, Salt Springs
Island, B.C. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, both
from Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon. In
lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the charity of
your choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Scovil, the VON,
and Palliative Care for their support in making Bob's remaining days
comfortable.
