
| KELLY, Ronald Arthur - 62, Hammonds Plains, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2003, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the eldest son of the late Arthur R. and Dorothea M. (Power) Kelly. He was retired with 28 years of service as a Firefighter for the City of Halifax and had been a former president of Local 268. Ron owned and operated Top Grade Builders for many years. In his community, Ron was involved as President of the Ratepayer's of Hammond's Plains Consolidated School, the Water Commission at Uplands Park, the Ball Association of Uplands Park and the Referee Association of Bedford Minor Sports. He also had ties with the Manor House Museum in Bedford. Ron will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a loyal friend with a great sense of wit and humour. He is survived by his wife, the former Heather Frederick; son, Michael (Michelle), Florida; daughter, Joanne (Shane Langois), Yellowknife; granddaughters, Kirsten and Nicole, Florida; brother, Bob (Sandra), Lower Sackville; nephew, Robb; niece, Karen; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday November 2, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. A Celebration of his life will take place 10 a.m. Monday, November 3, in St. James Roman Catholic Church, Hammonds Plains, Father Joseph MacKinnon Officiating.
