KENNEDY, Michael William "Mike" - 88, Queensland, passed away April 18, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, with much grace and great courage after an active and wonderful life, full of loving family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and had a deep appreciation for his surroundings. He was well-known for his sharp wit and quick come backs. He enjoyed numerous volunteer activities "always wanting to help others" until failing hearing led him to have a quiet life style. He was a retired manager with Lawson Graphics Atlantic Limited. Volunteer work included Hubbards Area Lion's Club, church, Masons as well he was the last surviving member of the original men who organized the Black Point Fire Department. He is survived by his daughters, Clare (David Matthews), Enfield; Diane Kennedy and his son, Robert Kennedy, both of Queensland; grandchildren, Michael and Brian, both of Queensland; Stephanie (Eric Hinch), Sussie and Davy, all of Enfield; Debbie (Kenny Lively), Rawdon; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Brett and Joey; brother, William Kennedy, Queensland; sister, Mae Noble, Saint John, N.B. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Janet Kennedy; his wife, Erva (Dorey); sons, David and William; brothers, Patrick and Jack. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
