LAURIE, Rodney Alexander, CA - 1932-2007, died peacefully after a brave struggle with cancer on May 14 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Quebec City, Que., he was a Chartered Accountant and lifelong member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was a son of the late George and Gertrude Laurie. He was predeceased by his brothers, Garvin and Benson Laurie (Helen). He is survived by his younger brother, Ian, Magog, Que.  Rod will be sadly missed by his wife, Anne; his children, Jennifer, Seymour, Conn.; Stuart (Vida), Burlington, Ont.; Carolyn Laurie (Stephen Schneider), Tantallon; Annie Laurie (David LeSurf), Perth, Ont.; stepsons, Stephan Lapointe and Francois Lapointe (Christine), Ottawa, Ont.; proud Grandad to Alexandra, Coulson, Ryan, Aaron, Willam, Holden, Rosemary, Madelaine, Gabrielle; nieces and nephews. A reception in memory of Rod will take place at his home, 11929 Peggy's Cove Rd., French Village, 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 19.
