LAWSON, James Charles -- 98, of Glen Haven,
passed away Friday, August 14, 2009, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in
Barnes, U.K., he was the son of the late James L. and Edith (Carter) Lawson.
James served in the RAF during the Second World War as a dental surgeon.
James and June married in 1948. He was a passionate yachtsman throughout his
life. Following their retirement in England, they spent time in Rhodesia,
South Africa and Spain before immigrating to Canada in 1980. They also spent
many years touring throughout North America. James was a man of immense
energy, ability and determination. After 60 years of marriage he leaves
behind his loving wife, June (Bryer) of Glen Haven; and three loyal
children, James V.B. (Pamela), North Vancouver, B.C.; Penny (Ryland) Thomas,
Claverley, England; Wendy (Anthony) McGuinness, Seabright; grandchildren,
William, Christopher, Samantha, Penny, Matthew, Nichola, James, Emma and
Claire; great-grandchildren, Simon, Maia, Hugh, Santiago, Isobel, Elizabeth
and Joshua. Predeceased by his brother, Raymond and sister, Peggy. A private
