LENNOX, Jean Murray - 74, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou Co., formerly of Black Point, Halifax Co., passed away Wednesday June 28, 2006, in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow, due to complications from Alzheimerís disease. Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Isabella (Murray) Tait. Jean graduated from Glace Bay School of Nursing in 1952 then continued her studies at Dalhousie University and graduated with a Teaching and Supervision Nursing Degree (1954). Jean had a great passion for children and especially babies. She taught nursing at the Childrenís Hospital in Halifax until 1960, then retired to raise her children. Jean will be remembered as a very kind, gentle, compassionate and loving person who devoted her life to her family and friends. All children in the community knew her for her chocolate chip cookies. Jean also enjoyed celebrating birthdays with her close friends, always thinking of those around her. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Jean is survived by her children, Dawn M. (Scott Barry), Black Point; David B. (Susan Kaye), Montreal; Kevin S. (Etta), Upper Tantallon; Lynda J. (Kevin MacDonald), Lower Sackville; brother, Stuart (Betty) Tait, North Sydney; grandchildren, Adele, Liam, Alyssa, Sydney, Aaron, Maxwell, Aliyah; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David S. (November 2005); brothers, Alexander, Henry, William, Theodore, Raphael (in infancy), and sister, Agnes Gosselin. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Friday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggyís Cove Rd., Tantallon. A private burial will take place at a later date.
