
| LOHNES , Murray Kenneth - 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in Camphill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Formerly of Black Point, Halifax Co., he was the son of the late Pearlie and Blanche (Silver) Lohnes. Murray was a resident of Black Point for over 50 years, working many years with Joe Salzman Grocery, Black Point. He also assisted his wife, Flora in the post office at Black Point. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Murray was very active member of the veteran's council and the community while a resident of Camphill Veterans' Building, QEII. Survived by son, Keith; daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Gary Simms), both of Hubbards; brother, Perry (Pauline) Lohnes, Northfield; sisters, Pearle Beals, Halifax, Vera Salzman, Northfield; grandchildren, Peter, Suzanne; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kelsey, Megan. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Flora in May 2000. Visitation today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral Saturday 10:30 a.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishops Memorial Park Fund or a charity of choice. |
