MILLS (Compton), Mildred Ruth "Millie" -68, of Queensland, passed away Friday January 29, 2010, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in St. Eleanor's, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth (Pickerum) Compton. Millie will remembered fondly by many as Mom. She worked many years with Imperial Oil and retired from Statistics Canada in 2002. She was a proud Butterfly and over the years took an active role with Brownies and was known as the Brown Owl. She was also an avid bingo player. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, daughter and grandsons for her kind and outgoing personality. Survived by her husband, Albert Lloyd; daughter, Brenda Joan Auton, Dartmouth; grandsons, Damon Justice and Kieron Joseph Auton; aunt, Jean (Oliver) Cole, Summerside; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 31. A celebration of Millie's life will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 1, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
