MORRISON-COLLINS, Doris Grace - 80, Hubbards, passed away July 14, 2002, in Glades Lodge, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Warnford R. and Rita (Fader) Lisson. Doris was actively involved with the Girl Guides of Canada as the Provincial Training Commissioner. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a Charter Member of Queen Esther Chapter 61 OES, and served as Worthy Matron. Doris was the first female Lion in Canada, serving first in Sackville as a Lioness and later in Hubbards as a Lion. She was also the first female postal worker in Canada to be involved in shift work. Doris was a member of the Hubbards Heritage Society and served as the recording secretary until recently. Surviving are sons, Gordon (Judy), Hubbards; Andrew (Flo), Calgary; Ronald, Victoria, B.C.; William (Diane), Edmonton; brother, Russel Lisson, Sackville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon B. Morrison; second husband, Albert Collins; son, John; brother, Thomas; sister, Joyce. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday, with memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon, Rev. Kelley Holt officiating.
