MUIR-REID, Vera Mae ó 89. It is with deep
sadness that the family of Vera Muir-Reid announces her passing on June 20,
2009, in St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Boutilier's Point, she
was a daughter of the late Wesley and Minnie (Langille) Boutilier. She will
be sadly missed by her loving niece, Florence "Sis" and husband, Lyndon
McIsaac; stepdaughter, Margaret Reid. She was a special "Nanny" to Jeff and
Heather McIsaac, and a wonderful aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and
nephews. She is survived by sisters, Evelyn Hartlen, Halifax; Marion
Whiting, Fox Point; Katherine (Keith) Mahaney, Aylesford; Mona (Ralph)
Dorey, Boutilier's Point; brother, Eric (Masie) Boutilier, Boutilier's
Point; She was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Muir; second
husband, Wilbert "Bill" Reid; sisters, Lillian, Ella, Prena, Iona and
Florence; brothers, Warren, Murray and Cyril. She will be fondly remembered
for her generosity and caring ways for others. She worked at Simpson's for
many years. Spending time with her family and going on bus trips with her
friends at the Basinview Senior's Club were her most enjoyable pleasures.
Special thanks to all the staff of St. Vincent's Nursing Home, especially
the 3rd floor angels, disguised as nurses and pcw's. Also a very special
thank you to nephew Stephen Lane who spent countless hours visiting with
Vera. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. A memorial
service will be held in the chapel of Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549
Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon on Monday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m., Rev.
