MacLEAN, Russell Leroy -79, Hubbards, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Hubbards, he was a son of the late Harry and Florence (Cleveland) Maclean. Russell was employed with the federal government, starting as an office boy at the age of 19 with Unemployment Insurance Commission, serving in the RCAF then with the Department of National Defense, and finally with the External Affairs Department in Ottawa and Europe. Russell was associated with many charities in Hubbards in his younger years as a musician, and helped with many amateur shows directing the musical part of the shows. Russell returned to Hubbards with his wife, Suzie after their retirement in 1985. He is survived by his son, Thomas (Rose); a number of nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Suzie; sisters, Hazel, Marguerite; brothers, George, twins, Gilbert and Douglas, Harold, Cyril and John. The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 22nd. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, January 23rd, both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Rev.
