MacPHAIL, Joseph Ballentyne - 77, Queensland, passed away Monday, August 21, 2006, at home. Born in Inverness, Scotland on July 8, 1929, he was a son of the late Thomas Alexander Ingram and Janetta Elizabeth Wood Milligan (Ballantyne) MacPhail. Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War while serving with the British Royal Navy in the early 50s. He then immigrated to Canada and joined the Royal Canadian Navy serving 22 years and retiring as Chief Petty Officer. He then began a new career with the Off Shore Oil Expedition in Hibernia succeeding to Drilling Superintendent with Petro-Canada, and later as a consultant with Husky Oil. He is survived by sons, Wayne (Gina), Queensland; Craig, West Jeddore; daughter, Joanne, Victoria, B.C.; grandchildren, Angela, Ian, Jacqueline, Myles, Colby, and Chad; brother, Ian, Australia; sister, Janetta Tobia, England. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ronald A. Walker Funeral Homes. A committal service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, in Mason's Point Baptist Cemetery, Head of St. Margaret's Bay, Rev. Richard Moore officiating.
