MASON, Thomas Edward - 61, Boutilier's Point, passed away August 23, 2001, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, surrounded by all his family, after a lengthy illness of three years. He was a son of the late John and Ruby (Arnold) Mason. He was employed by the Halifax Shipyards for more than 28 years as a pipe fitter. He had been very active in fastball and hockey. He was an avid hunter, fishermen, bowler, A.T.V'er, horseshoe player and especially enjoyed Nascar races. He was also a member of St. Margaret's Lodge. He received awards on becoming an honorary life member of Black Point and District Fire Department. He was a founding member of St. Margaret's A.T.V. Association. He is survived by his "ravishing" wife, Deanna (Garrison); daughter, Sherri (Shawn) Little; son, Andrew (Shelley); grandsons, Brett and Brandon; granddaughters, Emma and Sydney, all of Boutilier's Point; sister, Marion Shirlow (Ray); brothers, Wayne (Chris), both of St. Margaret's Bay; Willy (Cheryl), Boutilier's Point; Leonard (Laurie), Glen Haven; long-time family friend, Buster (Charlotte) Rudolph, Lewis Lake and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Louis and sister, Diane. Visitation today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Masonic service at 7 p.m., both in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, in James Anglican Church, Boutilier's Point, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
