He lived in Tangier before moving to Boutilier's Point with his family at a young age. Growing up in Boutilier's Point, he developed a strong love for the outdoors, and spent much of his time hunting, camping and fishing. While work initially took him elsewhere, Boutilier's Point always remained in his heart, and he returned there in 1985 to raise his family. Les worked in the seafood industry for 30 years and was an entrepreneur of several seafood brokerages. He experienced great success as the President and C.E.O. of Fortune Seas Canada, and most recently as the President of Ocean Street Seafoods. He served as Vice-president and President of TASA minor hockey from 1990-1995, and also served on the Board of Directors of the St. Margaret's Bay Arena Association. During this time, he also enjoyed coaching his son's minor hockey team. In 1995 he was named the St. Margaret's Bay Citizen of the Year by the St. Margaret's Bay Lion's Club in recognition of his outstanding contribution to his community, which also included organizing the restoration of an outdoor rink in Boutilier's Point. Les was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and taking in NASCAR races with his wife and many friends. Les was most happy when he was with his family, who meant the world to him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Les is survived by his wife of 34 years, his soul mate and best friend, Debbie (Martell); his son, Jeremy (Yung Cheung), and daughter, Lori (Adam MacNeil), who were his pride and joy.
