McIVOR, Elmer Joseph - 56, Hubbards. It is with great sorrow that the family of Elmer McIvor announce his sudden passing in Hubbards on February 4, 2005. He was born in Saint John, N.B. and raised in Halifax. Left to mourn are his parents, Justin and Eunice McIvor, Halifax; his loving wife, the former Roma Hann; daughter, Kimberly and son, Daniel, both of Hubbards; brothers, Kevin, Paul (Tamara), niece, Clara and nephew, Jason, all of Halifax. Elmer was a graduate of Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy, "Class of '72". He was a well-liked and respected pharmacist who owned and operated Hubbards Pharmacy for 25 years, as well as Scotia Drugs and Home Prescription Services of Halifax. He also worked in Vancouver and Bermuda as a pharmacist. Elmer loved to travel and enjoyed sailing, skiing, golfing and hockey. He will always be remembered for his exuberant zest for life and his abounding love of laughter as well as his sense of humor and his generosity toward others. He will be missed greatly by his devoted family who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Hubbards, Father Eric Theriault and Father Paul Morris officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
