Marshall Clarence Morash age 73 of Amherst and
formerly of West Dover, NS passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2009
at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, NS, with his
wife and daughters by his side. Born in West Dover, NS Halifax Co., he was a
son of the late Clarence W. and Frances E. (MacKinnon) Morash. Marsh was a
fisherman by trade and worked on the icebreaker Laurier and Sir. William
Alexander, as well as construction work in Halifax and later started his own
business known as D&M Morash until his retirement. He will be lovingly
remembered by his wife the former, Joyce Ogden of Amherst; six daughters,
Wendy (Kevin) Delong of Dartmouth, NS, Becky (Bill) MacKay, Susan (Jimmy)
Murphy, Marsha (Tony) Haylock, Valerie (Wayne Jackson) Fage all of Amherst
area and Tracy (Bill) Allen of Aulac, NB; three sisters, Gwendolyn Countway,
Audrey Publicover both of West Dover, NS, and Joyce Forgeron of Whites Lake,
NS; as well as two brothers, Everett of West Dover,NS and Phillip (Rosalee)
of Terrence Bay, NS; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Mable Holmes and Estella
(Stell) Forest; and two brothers, Seaton (Pidge) and Foster. A time of
visitation will be held on Saturday evening, May 16, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00
p.m. at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (667-9906) at
which time the remains will be transferred to Ronald A. Walker Funeral
Homes, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, NS (826-1331) with visiting on
Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. from where the
funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Byron Corkum
officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the St. James
Cemetery, West Dover. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions
can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
