OAKLEY, Roy "Mickey" or "Moke" -
60, Halifax, passed away on April 22, 2010. Born in Halifax, he was a son of
late Robert Oakley and Joyce Boyd. Mickey was naturally skilled, working at
construction and also fixing various types of engines. He worked on the oil
rigs, as a taxi driver and later opened a trucking company. He will be
missed by his family and many friends who counted on him whether it was for
coffee, spotting him in his car on his travels to work, playing a game of
pool, or knowing he was only a phone call away. He leaves behind his
partner, Judy; his beloved elder brother, Ritchie; little sister, Mary;
several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his dearly loved
cat, "Bear". A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2nd, in
Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Rd., Tantallon, with Rev.
Mark Marshall officiating.
