PUBLICOVER, Harold Conrad - 92, died May 2, 2002, in Shoreham Home for Special Care, Chester. Born in Blandford, he was a son of the late Harris and Eva (Meisner) Publicover. He worked as a logger and delivered mail from Hubbards through Blandford by horse and cart and over the ice to Big and Little Tancook Islands, as well as working at Karlsen's whale operation for several years. He is survived by his wife, E.E. Dorothy (Barrett); her family; brothers, Ralph (Phyllis), Walter (Geraldine), Lee (Eleanor), all of Blandford; sisters, Gertrude Harnish, Hubbards; Iris (Cecil) Mosher, Blandford and their families. He was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel (Fleet); son, Doyle Harris; brothers, Allen and Michael; sisters, Della Fleet and Erminie Publicover. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in St. Barnabas Church, Blandford, Rev. Randy Townsend officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shoreham Village Home for Special Care.
