REDMOND, Grace Winnifred -
98, formerly of Seabright, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2010, in
Maplestone Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Halifax on June 29, 1912, she was
a daughter of the late James and Alfreda (Collins) MacDonald. Grace was a
survivor of the Halifax Explosion and was the last surviving member of her
family. Grace enjoyed knitting, baking and cooking for her family. She is
survived by her daughter, Carol (Wilbert) Kaiser, Tantallon; sons, Douglas
(Rose Mason), Tantallon; Frank (Marsella Berringer), Bridgetown/Seabright;
five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her
husband, Harold; daughter, Shelia Mae, in infancy; brothers, Ralph, Bill and
Gordon Roy; sisters, May, Freda, Geraldine and Pearl. Cremation has taken
place. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3 in Ronald A.
Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Tantallon. Burial to follow in
Umlah Cemetery, Seabright. Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Family flowers
only. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to William Black Memorial
Church Fund, Glen Margaret, Heart and Stroke Fund, Alzheimer Society of Nova
