John Reinders
60 of Hubley N.S., passed away peacefully at his home on March 7, 2011. Born February 17, 1951 in Zuidwolde, the Netherlands, he is the son of Harry and Aly Reinders, formerly of Timberlea. He is survived by his sisters, Shirley and Nancy, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was a devoted husband to his loving wife Sandy, and a wonderful father to his sons Christopher and James. His kindness and spirit will be forever missed, and never forgotten by all those his life has touched. John enjoyed his younger years with his grandparents in the Valley. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and “hunting” for mushrooms in the forest - especially when sharing his time with his family and friends. An avid gardener and cook, one would always find John in the summer on his deck in front of his barbeque. He was an employee of the Public Works department for the Government of Canada, and performed his duties as a civil servant diligently and proudly.
Visitation will be on 2–4 pm and 7-9pm Thursday March 10th and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday March 11 both in the Ronald A Walker Funeral Home 13549 Peggy’s Cove Rd., Tantallon. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of John.
