SHANKEL, Laurie Stewart - 80, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2007, after a brief illness. Born May 26, 1927, in Hubbards, where he lived all his life, Laurie was a well-known and liked man who worked hard and loved his family greatly. They, in return, adored him. He was a son the of late Clyde and Rebecca (Dorey) Shankel. He will be always remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Beverley (Evans) Shankel; his daughters, Vicki Harnish, Janet Fraser, and Rhea Sheehy; son-in-law, Lorne Harnish; grandchildren, Laura Harnish, Stacey Harnish, Stewart Fraser, Matthew Sheehy, Mitchell Sheehy; as well as sister, Patricia (Bernard) Scanlan. He was predeceased by brother, Breton. A family funeral service was held in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Burial has taken place in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards.
